Home Owner Nazi's
Today marks a momentous occasion as it is the day we received our first HOA violation. When Ryan walked up the stairs to tell me we received a violation, my mind began thinking of what we could have done to get ourselves in trouble. As far as I'm concerned, we're the best residents in the neighborhood - we always pay our outrageous HOA fees on time, we haven't put anything obtrusive in our yard, and we always take our garbage cans in and out on the right days. So take a look at what our wonderful home owner's association had to say...
"The following non-compliance issue with respect to your property was noted on 08/17/2009: All trash containers must be identified by the owner's unit number. Identification stickers will be provided by the Association and attached to the front of the container by the unit owner. Stickers were mailed to you when you received your pool keys. If you did not receive a sticker, please contact AAM."
Not only did we never receive the stickers, but we've never even heard anything about this policy until now. I just can't help but laugh at the thought of someone actually taking the time to notice something so inconsequential and then taking the time to report it.
So today will officially go down in history as the day we received our first HOA violation. And from the looks of it, I'm sure there will be many more to come!

KENZ! how are you?? ok- sorry this post hilarious...but it's only because i remember the kenzi w/the handicap sticker in her car who got like 6 or 8 parking tickets in one semester at BYU-I and just kept doing her thing :) I seriously love u and I know I'm exagerating on how many you got, but it was more than a couple. haha! miss you and I'm glad you a little rebelious when it comes to silly things like HOA's and parking signs...there are always exceptions to the rules hehe. MISS YOU!!! looks like you've had a great summer with lots of family vacations and FUN :) xoxox take care!
HOA's are soooo stupid. I do not really understand what they do that is so good that everyone wants to have them around.
We got one for mowing are lawn 3 days late. Heaven forbid you are sick and go 10 days with out mowing. HOAs are lame!
How could you possibly neglect to put the identifying stickers on?! Such a travesty!
Who is in charge of informing the authorities of something like that? Who really cares?! Sheesh!
I must say that HOA's are pointless in my eyes. They waste OUR money to send a stupid letter to (most of the time) people who maintain their property just fine. We once received a letter from our HOA because we landscaped our backyard WITHOUT getting prior approval from them. Sherman built a pergola, which was visible from the street, but it was FAR from an eye sore. They threatened to fine us if we didn't submit prints for approval...WHAT? HATE HOAs. At the same time we received our letter there were weeds as high as windows in some yards, graffiti covering our parks, and junk cars sitting in driveways...broken down. Whatever! Good luck with your trash can :) Good times. Isn't being a homeowner fun?
I've had 3 HOA violations. I think Mrs. Kravits from Bewitched lives in my neighborhood. I HATE HOA's!
