Honk & Wave Parade

Our school put on a parade where the teachers drove around the neighborhood honking & waving to the kids. The kids were so excited to get to see & yell hi to their teachers. I really could not be more thankful for the wonderful teachers & staff that have gone out of their way to make our kids feel special. After homeschooling for 3 days I think it’s safe to say we ALL miss those teachers SO much!

A Conversation with Cooley

Cooley: I feel like when I go to get married there are going to be lots of girls gathered around me.
Me: Because they’ll all want to marry you?
Cooley: Yeah. And then I’ll have to get a van.
Me: For all your kids?
Cooley: Yeah.
Me: But we have kids & don’t have a van.
Cooley: Well if I have 2 kids then I’ll just get a little car but if I have 10 kids then I’ll get a van.

Joanie

Many of my friends have heard me talk about my good friend Joanie. Joanie is quirky, independent, strong-willed, & has taught me lessons on patience comparable to that of motherhood. I recently read a quote that said, “It is usually through another person that (God) meets our needs.” I think sometimes he does that in unexpected ways. Joanie was definitely sent into my life to challenge & refine me. She has taught me about compassion & understanding & has played an important role in teaching my kids to serve. I hope everyone is lucky enough to have a “Joanie” in their life at some point. Seeing that smile on her face today kinda made it all worth it. #lighttheworld
