Movie Night

Our friends Mike & Alecia have a sibling who owns a company that specializes in home theater installations. At their office, they have a small theater they use for showcasing their products. As payback for a favor, they lent our friends the theater for the night and let us have our own movie night. The night was spent playing Xbox, watching movies, and binging on theater popcorn and candy. It was great getting to watch movies on the big screen while lounging in their giant recliners. Overall, I think it's safe to say that movie night was a success!

Summer Grillin'

As a housewarming gift, Ryan's parents were nice enough to give us a brand new grill. In an effort to "break it in," we had some friends over for a summer bbq and homemade ice cream. Thanks again Dan and Mary - we love it!

Ryan had a fun time getting to play with baby Aubry

Boys & Girls Weekend

This weekend Ryan went up to the "Roundup" with my Dad and little brother, Hunter. The boys had a fun time wrestling the calves down so they could be branded and castrated. Although Ryan came back sunburned and tired, he's already counting down the days until the next time he gets to play "cowboy."

While Ryan was away, I got to have a night out with the girls. It was so fun getting to catch up with everyone! Of the 7 friends at dinner - 5 are married, 2 are pregnant, 2 have graduated from college, and 2 just bought homes. Talk about a change from 4 and half years ago when we were graduating from high school. It's amazing how we can go so long without seeing each other, but when we finally get together, we're able to pick-up right where we left off. It really makes you appreciate having good friends!

Look how far we've come:

Wii Fit

Our latest obsession has been our new Wii Fit. For those of you who don't know, the "Fit" is a new game that you can buy for the Nintendo Wii which includes a balance board that you stand on as you play the games. The activities you can do with the board range from yoga to snowboarding to our new favorite, "hula hooping." Besides being totally addictive, the game has proven to be very entertaining for large groups because it makes everyone look totally dumb (see the videos and pics below).

Chick Flick

This weekend both Ryan and my dad were out of town so my Mom and I decided it would be the perfect time to see "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2." We saw the movie on Friday night and spent the rest of the weekend eating, shopping, and just hanging out. The movie was a complete "chick flick" and TOTALLY cheesy and I loved it! If you saw the first one and thought it was cheesy, be prepared for some major cheese in the second one! Overall, it was fun just getting to hang out with my Mom! Thanks for the great weekend Mom!

Wii Night

One thing that we've noticed about living back in Arizona, is that it seems like everything is EXPENSIVE! After going on several expensive dates, we decided to do an old fashioned group date night with some of our friends. On Saturday night, we went to the store and bought ingredients and toppings for homemade pizzas. We came back to our apartment and each couple made their own pizza and we played Nintendo Wii. We rented a new Wii game which we totally love and had some amazing homemade ice cream. Altogether, the night turned out great. I guess it just goes to show that you really don't have to spend a lot to have a fun time!

After accidentally hitting his date during a game of tennis, Rob was banished to his own corner for the remainder of the game.

For the record, I'm actually pretty good at Wii Tennis. I blame it on the fact that I had to play with Rob's Mii character instead of my own.

BYU-I Roomates

On Friday night we went to dinner with some of my old roommates. All I can say is that it's amazing how things change. When I first came to BYU-Idaho, my roommates and I were all 18 and 19 enjoying single life. Back then, we could care less about boys, we were much more concerned with junk food and what our weekend plans were going to be. The nice thing about living at BYU-I are that almost all of the apartment complexes have 6 people per an apartment. Since BYU-I is on the three-track system, I usually had different roommates each semester. Although each semester was remarkably different, it was always fun getting to live with new people and make new friends. Here are some stats on my past roommates:

Total roommates at BYU-I: 11
Roommates who are now married or will be this year: 7
Roommates w/ a baby: 1
Where roommates are from: Idaho, Washington, Colorado, Texas, California, Utah, and Kansas
